family—equipping

What is Family-Equipping?

Family Ministry (definition of family equipping): “The process of intentionally and persistently realigning a congregation’s proclamation and practices so that parents are acknowledged, trained, and held accountable as the persons primarily responsible for the discipleship of their children.”

[ Family-Equipping Model is distinguished from “Family-Integrated Model” and “Family-Based Model.”)

We want to restore the "main thing" back to its rightful place as the "main thing!"

It is not the children's pastor or youth pastor's job to lead your children or youth spiritually.

It is not the teacher or private school's job to train up your child in the ways of the Lord.

We know that most people were not "discipled" by their parents. For the last 50 years, many times the "dropoff" method or "attendance" was the low bar of expectation that parents thought they were supposed to do.

1/168 Rule: Do you realize that out of 168 hours in a week--most kids get LESS THAN ONE HOUR teaching them about their Creator and Savior? Why would we think they would worship and surrender to an invisible being that is marginalized in everyday life?

We want parents to be ACKNOWLEDGED, TRAINED, ENGAGED, AND ENCOURAGED as the primary disciplers who point their children towards Christ and His Kingdom. And we know, this is new for most parents who never understood their role in this. Don't be alarmed, we will walk with you through every bit of it. But know this, no equation or system produces Godly, heaven-bound kids. We simply want to be faithful creating family environments where Christ is the center.

"You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. 6 And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. 8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates." --Deuteronomy 6:4-9

We want to partner with all types of family systems to enable you to be faithful in raising your children to know and love the Lord.
