Sojourn church is led by a leadership model given to us in the bible referred to as a “Plurality of elders.”
Throughout the Old Testament and carried into the New Testament church, God’s wisdom called for a “plurality of Elders.”
We are a Jesus-ruled, Elder-led, Deacon-served, Congregational-responsible church.
“Elder” does not refer to age but a position of leadership and care for the body of Christ.
pastor / elder:
sujan joshi
Sujan and Priti Joshi are from Nepal. They have two boys: Joses and Ashwin who are 13 and 10 respectively.
They met in a boarding school in India and God later directed them to each other after medical school. Living in different cultures most of their lives, they each had unique walks with God. Sujan was born in a Christian family and later was born again, surrendering His life to Christ, in high school. Priti heard the Gospel for the first time in middle school, and later accepted Christ in medical school.
Sujan and Priti came to pursue residency training here in Tulsa after medical school and have lived here ever since.
After years of seeking and praying, they initially thought they were going to Nepal for medical missions, however God has directed them to serve the people here in Oklahoma in various capacities. They practice medicine locally in Tulsa.
Living in the buckle of the “Bible Belt,” the identity of Christ can take on a lot of meaning. In pursuit of fellowship with believers whose identity in Christ is not self-seeking, they joined Sojourn right after it was launched in 2018.
pastor / elder:
tyler mills
Tyler is from Ada, Oklahoma. He attended Bacone College to play football and then moved back to Ada to finish his degree at East Central University. The main reason he moved back, was to marry his high school sweetheart, “Kaylie…the woman of my dreams” as he puts it. They have been married since 2012.
Tyler and Kaylie have 3 children: Benjamin, Lily, and Rosalie.
They have sought to be faithful to the local church and always put their “yes” on the table to wherever and however God would call them to serve. After much prayer, they thought God was leading them overseas into a missions role, but as the Scripture says, “the heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps.”
God redirected their desires to join Sojourn Church as a plant before it was even launched.
After many years of serving, they’ve learned ministry can be some of the most difficult, but some of the most joyful and rewarding times.
Tyler’s desire for our local church is “to lead people to a God who is worthy of all our being—and living for Him beyond Sunday worship gatherings to where we live, work, and play.”

church planter / lead pastor:
sankie lynch
Sankie & Jamie have been married since 1999. They have three boys, Sankie II, Owen, and Jackson.
They began their lives together in a church plant in NW Arkansas. After three years, they thought they were going to spend their lives overseas, so they joined a missions-mobilizing group called The Traveling Team. God began to clarify calling and gifting over the next couple of years, and they knew shepherding/pastoring churches, making disciples, church planting, and further theological education was part of the future.
They spent ten years in Tahlequah as Sankie was on staff at Grace Baptist Church as the Pastor of Twentysomethings & Small Groups and then four years on staff in South Tulsa at New Beginnings Church as Pastor of Discipleship and Young Families.
While part of New Beginnings, God began to lead them toward church-planting again. Sankie had finished his Masters of Divinity through Southern Seminary in Louisville, KY. Several Professors and Pastors introduced them to Harbor Network (formerly Sojourn Network). They went through assessment and were launched as the first church plant from New Beginnings Church in 2018.
