join us: worship services 10:00 am
sojourn church meets in the fellowship hall of the myanmar zomi (burmese) baptist church on peoria avenue.
We are so thankful to Metro Christian Academy where we met for over three years.
And now the Zomi Baptist Church has allowed us to use space since their services are later in the afternoon. So it’s two churches using one building at different times, one speaking English and one speaking Burmese, but one universal body of Christ.

Babies/Toddlers are with parents in service or in Mother’s Area. Children 3-7 yrs old can either remain in service or go to Sojourn Kids class during preaching. Teens remain in services with family the entire time.

Yes. We have space at the back of the Worship area—and are renovating a room to be ready January 7th with gliders, changing station, mounted television with live feed and adjustable volume for worship.

Currently giving is online (click Give on this site), mailed checks to our address, and there is a Giving Box at the back of the worship area as well.
WHAT WE REFUSE TO BE
A place that uses religion as a Political force
A place that uses religion as a Financial force
A place that uses religion to hurt other people
A place that uses Scripture out of context to promise obligations of God for immediate health, wealth, prosperity
A place that abuses people by taking personal preferences and falsely equating them with Scripture to create an “added-on” rule that God did not want in Scripture
An environment of only one Political Affilliation—we are not “Only Democrats” or “Only Republicans”
An environment of only one dominant ethnic or racial paradigm
We do not: “Do good things to get to heaven”
We do not: “Live good enough lists to get to heaven”
We do not: “Educate our children in only one approved form”
We are not a place that fears true complimentarian roles of men and women—the family is not a “cookie-cutter” form of church sub-culture
We are not a place where perfection, performance, or pretending is the goal for attenders
We are not a place that ignores or hides mental illness
We are not a place that ignores or hides emotional, mental, or verbal abuse in the name of protecting the church
We are not a place that ignores or hides addictions or emotional/mental needs
We are not a place “only” for the rich or the middle class or the poor—we welcome all
We are not afraid of doubts or fears—we want to grow in curiosity about God’s Godness
We are not afraid of hurting, messy family origins—God is creating a new family
